 Vicente Sanhueza

 Hello, my name is Vicente Sanhueza, I am 21 years old and I currently live in the city of Santiago de Chile, in southern South America. I was born and I also grew up in this same city. In my family we're 5 people. I have a sister and a brother, I am the middle brother.




 

Since I was very little, I had an interest in the performing arts. When I was a teenager I began to write my first theater plays for activities at school. They weren't very good, but I was trying to cheer myself up, because I really enjoyed doing that.

 

My family live in Pucón since 2021. They love the country and the peace that are in this place. Villarrica volcano is seen from my house. My mother is called Claudia, my father is named Iván and my sister, Valentina. My other brother lives in Ibiza, Spain since many years ago. 


In 2018, I started studying Theater Design, at first, I didn't like it, but when I began to understand that my speech in front of the theater from the side of the set designer, my vision of the scene began to change and I began to fall in love of scenic discipline.


I like the stages more than the scenography, I feel a special love for theatrical and scenic technique. Building, staging and assembling structures are my passion. Working at height and with spotlights (expensive, delicate and very dangerous) for theater are things that I love and miss very much.




My hobbies are riding a bike, taking pictures for my personal record and going out to party (clearly with the pandemic these are activities that I am not allowed #stayathome). I like reggeton, I like to dance, I like beer.

31 MINUTOS, THE BEST SERIE

The television series that I like the most, since I was a child, is "31 minutos", broadcast on national television (TVN). I really like this series because it mixes the best of two worlds, theater and television. I really like animal puppets. Also, I think the idea of a puppet led newscast is very good.   This series was broadcast during my childhood, and is considered quality television, due to its educational nature, without losing its comedy essence. Something that always caught my attention were the ingenious solutions that the program had. If they had to generate a new character for the program, they solved it with things they found in the warehouses of the television channel, they gave him a funny actor's voice, done, a new character had been created.   When I entered the university, I was able to have classes with the "31 minutos" designers. Blog 2: Fonda Permanente

 Fonda Permanente The best music festival I have been to has been the celebration of the national festivities of “La Fonda Permanente” at the Santiago Hippodrome during September 2017 and 2018. In this festival there were 2 stages with different Chilean and Latin American artists singing during 3 days until very late at night. This was like a classic “Fonda” from the production company Fonda Permanente. On both occasions I saw many Chilean cumbia artists, Villa Cariño, Guachupe, Santa Feria, American Sound, Chico Trujillo as well as national Rap artists such as Ana Tijux, Chystemc, Tiro de Gracias. In 2018, I saw the late Zalo Reyes live in concert. During the event everything was a party, dance, cueca and revelry. The event was authorized to sell alcoholic beverages, added that it was September 18, there was a party atmosphere, friendship among other things. Blog 3: specialization in scenic design

Theatrical design career is one of a kind. It is the only race of its kind in Chile and Latin America. In 5 years, the 5 trades that make up the discipline are studied. This career has no one to compare itself with in Chile since there are no other schools that teach it. Theatrical design is made up of 5 trades that are the basis of the formation of the national theatrical/scenic designer. Costume designers, illuminators, set designers, make-up artists and stagehands or stage technicians.  The university doesn't allow specialization in any of these areas, but appeals to all students to learn all trades in order to access the academic degree. This last point has been the subject of debate in recent years, since there is an important part of the students and academics who believe that it would be good if specialization were allowed, since, during the 5 years that the degree lasts, it is not time enough to investigate, practice.
